Red Pine Software's foreign language application's are designed to drill students on French, German, and Spanish vocabulary words. The software has various preset word lists, and includes tools that allow custom word lists to be created and edited. The application is perfect for assisting students in learning assigned lists of vocabulary words. Separate versions of the software are sold for French, German, and Spanish.

The application is extremely easy to use. The student simply reads the English word, types the equivalent word in the proper language, and clicks the Answer button. If the answer is correct, the application will respond with “Correct”, and the next word will be shown. If the question is answered incorrectly, the application will show the correct word. The system keeps track of wrong answers, and repeats the questions until the student answers correctly. The system supports special characters such as umlauts, accents, and tildes.

The application includes an administration tool that can be used by a parent or teacher to add new students, monitor a student's progress, change lesson levels, set student grade level, and specify a time-delay between questions.
