United States Geography

Red Pine Software's United States Geography is a software application designed to drill students on the geography of the United States. The application covers covers all 50 states.

Questions are divided into different levels, with each level covering a region of states. Learning occurs gradually as the student progresses through the various levels. A student advances to a new level after answering at least 90% of the questions on the current level correctly.

The application is extremely easy to use. The student simply reads the name of the state and the state information,  locates the proper state on the map, clicks on the state, and clicks the Answer button. If the answer is correct, the application will respond with “Right!”, and the next question will be shown. If the question is answered incorrectly, the application will label both the incorrect and correct states, so that the student understands the correct answer. The system keeps track of wrong answers, and repeats the questions until the student answers correctly.

The application includes an administration tool that can be used by a parent or teacher to add new students, monitor a student's progress, change lesson levels, set student grade level, and specify a time-delay between questions.
